Privacy Policy
Last updated August 26, 2026.
1. What this covers
This policy explains what information RankWebsite collects when you visit our site, register for membership, list a site in the member directory, or contact us, and how we use and protect it.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly:
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text) when you register.
- Listing information: your site's domain, a contact email, site type, industry, target keywords, and any metrics you choose to self-report (DR, DA, spam score, traffic, and similar), plus what's needed to verify you own the domain.
- Contact form submissions: your name, email, optional website, and message.
- Basic usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) generated by normal web hosting, used only for security and troubleshooting.
We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the public site. If that changes, we'll update this page.
3. How we use it
- To review and approve membership and listing applications.
- To verify you own the domain you're listing, via a DNS record or file check you control.
- To operate the member directory, so other approved members can find and reach your listed site.
- To respond to contact form messages and account-related emails.
- To keep the platform secure and address abuse reports.
4. What other members can see
The member directory is not public. Only members we've approved can sign in and browse it. If your listing is approved, its domain and contact email are shown directly to other approved members browsing the directory, so they can reach out to you about a backlink opportunity. This is the core purpose of the directory and is disclosed here so it's never a surprise.
5. What we don't do
- We don't sell your information to third parties.
- We don't share your data with advertisers.
- We don't show your domain or contact email to anyone who isn't an approved, logged-in member.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and listing information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings, which removes your account and associated listing data. Contact us if you'd like help with a deletion request.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. Domain verification checks are guarded against being used to probe internal or private networks. We serve the site over HTTPS in production. No method of storage or transmission is ever perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
